Ameztoi Harvest

In Getaria, this year’s winter and spring were cold and exceptionally rainy.

Flowering occurred about 2 weeks later than normal, due to this bad weather. Thankfully the sun came out again at the end of June, and the rest of the summer was warm and dry. This allowed the grapes to mature well and kept diseases in check.

In the end, the fruit achieved optimal ripeness while maintaining a balanced acidity, so it’s looking like a very promising vintage.

The harvest went from October 4th to October 24th. The total quantity was 300,000 liters, a little below average due to rain during flowering. Acidity is at 8g/L and alcohol level should end up at 10.6%.
