D Ventura Harvest

As always, harvest at D Ventura was a heroic affair due to the steepness and remoteness of the sites.

In terms of weather, it was quite rainy until June, but the summer was dry, which meant the bunches of grapes were smaller than usual. Viña Caneiro was harvested at the tail end of the dry period. It then rained for two weeks. Pena do Lobo and Viña do Burato were harvested once the rains stopped, in dry conditions under sunny skies. According to Ramon Losada, the vintage is looking particularly good for Pena do Lobo. Here is the site-specific harvest information:

Harvest dates: September 25th and 26th.
Yield: 5000 kg.
Alcohol: 14.2%

Pena do Lobo
Harvest date: October 9th
Yield: 6000 kg.
Alcohol: 13.3%
Acidity: 7g/L

Viña do Burato
Harvest Dates: October 10th and 11th
Yield: 10000 kg.
Alcohol: 12.2%
Acidity: 7.2g/L
