Do Ferreiro 2014 Harvest
This year the vegetative cycle occurred more or less within the normal dates, with bud break at the end of March and flowering in May and June. Throughout the year the rains were plentiful, especially from January to May. The rains let up during the summer, but picked up again right at harvest time, which made the timing of harvest a little tricky. Overall, the rains meant a difficult vintage, with disease a constant threat. But in the end we kept diseases in check and ended up with great fruit.
We harvested from the 24th of September until the 3rd of October. Alcohol levels will be around 12% this year. The quality of the fruit was optimal, in large part due to severe selection in the vineyard during harvest.
