Chéreau Carré 2015 Harvest
In the muscadet region, this year’s winter was mild but long, with spring not coming until April. Budbreak therefore came late, but the lateness in the vegetative cycle was made up for by a warm and sunny spring. Summer was also warm and dry, so much so that by the end of August the vines were starting to show signs of water stress. Thankfully, rains at the beginning of September brought relief to the vines.
These rains also provoked a rapid maturation of the grapes, and harvest began shortly thereafter, on September 8th, and ended 3 weeks later, on September 30th. 2015 is looking like a wonderful vintage so far, a rare year with both quantity and quality.
